I AM POST GRADUATE FROM INDIA IN COMMERCE AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.I CAME TO UK 2 YEARS AGO AND NOW HOLD A PERMANENT VISA HERE. I AM IN THE FINAL STAGE OF ACCA. I HAVE WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF MS OFFICE, EXCEL AND POWERPOINT. AT THE MOMENT I AM WORKING IN TESCO AS A TEAM LEADER. CAN I GET A JOB IN ACOUNTING WITH SUCH BACKGROUND AND WHAT SALARY I CAN EXPECT.

You have all the theoretical knowledge, but no practical knowledge, which means that even though you are in the final stages of your accountancy qualification you will need to start in a slightly more junior role to gain experience. There are many great junior roles out there, which would offer you support for your studies and the opportunity to progress further on. It may be an idea to start off in an accounts assistant role. You should aim for a salary of £20k minimum.

Dear Job Doctor,
I want to know why i've never been invited for any job discussion since my resume was posted. I do receive job alert that my profile fit into these adverts that i should apply , i've been applying without response. Could this be because i'm not in UK? I'm currently controller in a multi national Nigeria, i have ACA and MBA in Finance with over eight years work experience. Please i just want to get a job before applying for work permit through HSMP.
